So much for an inexpensive meal or hotel in Flagstaff..Sorry for the Mom and Pops..
Two Flagstaff businesses close in face of minimum wage laws

Not to get into a debate on the Flagstaff minimum wage law here, bit I call BS.

Cultured was screwed when a Dutch Bros coffee stand opened up 50' from their front door, for example. Unfortunately, their's, and other unsustainable business plans were exposed, and seem to be using the scapegoat of the new, not-yet implemented $15 minimum wage law. Kinda seems like the business owners are using the closing of their businesses as an opportunity to have a (justifiable?) platform.

Regardless, there is no doubt the statewide $12, and $15 (Flagstaff) wage laws will have an enormous economic impact. Rapid local inflation is in the horizon, and many other businesses will no doubt follow.

Seeing the ROTM pics really brings into focus the diversity in AZ. I need to get back into the desert soon, because all of this gray and snow up north is reminding me of my college days well north and east of here. This is the view from my living room this am, and another from down the street.

It has pretty much looked like this since Thursday am... Near constant snow showers.

Cool no work

Hah. There will be work for me. The kind I get paid for starts later in the day, the kind that makes my muscles ache has been ongoing.

Last time we were up north got some of that exercise and enjoyed it. This amount probably not so much. I have a 6' Western snowplow that fits a 40 series sitting in my garage in the valley. Been debating which cruiser to sacrifice and put it on or if I should just throw together a non-registered one from parts I have. Either way need to do something. County stopped plowing cul-de-sacs a few years ago unless there is enough snow then pile it up in front of the driveways.

While going thru my cruiser literature yesterday came across my paper work from when I joined the now defunct AZTLC back in 93. Also a envelope from Larry Miller Toyota from when they were at 39th and Indian School Rd. Then a coupon from when they were at 47th and Glendale Ave. Plus a bunch stuff going back even earlier. Now I know why my bones ache they are fossilizing.

friends of mine went fishing this weekend and snapped this pic - looks COLD!

Where was this at? Back in the seventies when I lived in Flagstaff would go fishing at Ashurst Lake in the winter. That required a ax to cut thru the ice. While I never did it others would drive out on the lake.
Yosemite, they have time share cabin the area. They were trout fishing from the shore

Nice cruiser but not a 77. At least a 79. Wheels are 1980 at the newest. Still need to figure the changes to the gas fill door. Think my 79 opens the opposite direction.

Speaking of 40's, did anyone catch what those four FJ40's sold for at the Russo & Steele auction?

Pitch, too cool, Mother Nature made you a baby faced snowman.;)

I'm with John, the bezel and gas door make it a 79 or later.

Flange on A pillar going all the way thru the running board was also a 79+ change.

Crazy Russians, stock wheels and tires with no lift don't make for a good off road vehicle at least not on the LX570.

Get a kick out the driver texting. It's clear they also were in a closed area. Found another You tube by this Black and White with a 100 series that was fairing better except it looked like it died from water splashed into the engine compartment. At least that what it appeared by the last few seconds when pulled something off the firewall. I don't understand Russian.

Ahhh! You and Living in the Past! Sheesh "Well, Akimoto obviously DIDN'T build this one as he always tightened the third lugnut reversily therefore it's not a 77 but a third-shift 77 built in December so maybe almost a 78 but the color is slightly off since the turn signal stalk was more grayish than normal on these plus the license plate light is off. Not off as in mounted wrong, but OFF."

Just kidding I love this stuff. Once watched a guy hold court at the AZ Mustang club discuss the proper mounting of underhood accessories and the proper color/type of mounting fasteners that should have been used. Don't get him started on washers.

Cool article about some Gila monster research going on at ASU

Arizona adorable monster

Like the if bitten; "Find a tree, sit in the shade and suffer" and "Don't drive yourself to a hospital. You won't die from the bite, but you will die from an accident."
So tired of seeing these dudes squished on the roadways, even in 25 mph neighborhoods. Not like they dart out in front of a vehicle.
