First Time Guests

  1. John Castilla – John doesn't have a 4x4 Toyota (’06 highlander AWD), but he's has an interest and learned about the club through @murf who he met at HomeDepot in his FJ40 and was very impressed. Murf told him about the club and he's very interested in finding an FJ40 to buy as a new project sometime in the future.
  2. Jim Boyle; Joe & Wilham (sons) - Jim, Joe, and Wilham own a white ’87 FJ60 and they're visiting from Chicago for the winter. He found out about the club when someone yelled at him while driving and told him to come to this meeting. Jim found the Fj60 online in FL when he lived in Chicago, and he jumped right on it. He has kept it original after cleaning it up a bit; no rust, very nice condition. Wilham was the impetus for buying this truck: his uncle in Wyoming has two Land Cruiser, which he got to drive and subsequently convinced his dad to buy two of them (one which he just sold a couple days ago); Joe got into Land Cruisers after his brother and dad got into it.
  3. Chris (no mud name yet) – Chris owns a white ’97 LX 450 (no lockers, unfortunately), with about 250k miles on it, which he has had for over a year. He didn’t plan on building it originally but now he can’t stop. He got it from the original owner in FL, mint condition, no rust or anything. He just got his 4x4 Labs bumper delivered this morning, and will be installing it this weekend. He also just purchased a drawer system on Wednesday, a jack from LCP, and plans to keep working on building out the truck from here. He is looking for another 80 series or maybe an FJ40. Chris will likely be joining the club "officially" very soon.
Run of the Month

March

@D_Web organized and led Tucson ROTM - March 17th/18th several of the Phoenix folk traveled down to attend. This run was down by the border and looked to be a great time full of excellent scenery. :coffee:

@yjeff was supposed to originally lead the March ROTM but extinuating circumstances arose and @Kruiser Kat was nice enough to step up to organize and lead a last minute March ROTM of Turkey Creek trail. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/3-25-2018-rotm-turkey-creek-trail.1049516/

April

Sunday, April 22, 2018
@murf has organized the ♦ Copper State Classic Cruize ♦ April 22nd, 2018 taking place this weekend, a lot of trucks are slotted to be attending this day trip. Hopefully they don't run into any snow this year! :steer:

Saturday, April 28, 2018 @Chrismanjs is leading ROTM April - Pyeatt Payson AZ a group of people will be heading up Friday to camp before the trail on Saturday. Optional breakfast meet-up at the Beeline Cafe around 8:45am. Saturday night will be optional camping as well. @Dimples will be providing a large pot of gumbo that should be enough to feed everyone, if but beware, it will be SPICY! :skull: There isn't really an official potluck planned for this run, but if anyone wants to bring something to share, that would be encouraged! This is a great run for all skill levels, you can make it as easy or as hard as you want (there is a bypass for every obstacle). For more details, see the thread.

Saturday, May 5th, 2018 @D1EZEL is leading the May ROTM to MAY ROTM: Swansea, Alamo Lk & More: Sat, May 5th 2018 This will most likely turn into an overnighter and optional breakfast meet-up on Saturday. Lots of interesting sights on this run, and it will be stock friendly.

June
- @wtmtnterror will be leading the June ROTM, details TBD (promising somewhere higher elevation!).:bounce:

July - @Dimples will be leading the July ROTM, details TBD.:cookie:

New Business

May 18 – 20, 2018 Overland Expo West Ft. Flagstaff, AZ @yjeff and :princess: will be teaching some classes this year, and several other members plan to be attending and camping. This is a great event for 4x4/overlanding enthusiasts with a whole weekend packed full of classes, vendors, etc. lots to see!
