Um yes.
This is just what I purchased today:
Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners ($150)
BAMF Rear Dif Skid Plate (almost new for $250).

Next up:
Ubolt flip kit
LCA skid plate (armor)

And the list goes on and on.

When I went to CM in '19 their tech inspection included a check of the parking brake and whether it would hold your rig in place under moderate acceleration. Mine was barely holding but I got the "I guess its alright" from the inspector. Since then It hasn't gotten any better. This is now on my list with a rebuild in the near future.

My college roommate is going and bringing his 40 and promoting his cruiser biz, may drive down and ride along for a couple days. Would be interested in the convoy.

Chris
I would say before ordering that follow the FSM procedure for adjusting your 80's parking brake. Many people miss adjusting the bell cranks that pass through the axle dust shield/drum backing plate. Correct way is to start internal by rotating the star wheel thing, then the bell cranks and then moving to the adjuster under the parking brake handle. You'll be surprised how much adjustment there is

Chris, I decided this is on my punch list too. A good solid parking brake is a must in Moab/Morrison etc. Good on ya, I am going to re-adjust mine to make it rock solid before heading down.

Don’t feel too bad about your parking brake. That’s probably why Toyota went to an electronic one in the 300 series as they’ve never been that great of a setup.

Chris, was it the upgraded model? I'll bring mine to the meeting on Tuesday and we can compare.
Yes, it was the Premium kit with the Natika camera. The one that allows for more mounting options (horizontal or vertical). Unfortunately I wont have my Taco at the meeting. It is on jack stands as I am having a front shock rebuilt (leaking, but under warranty). But you are more then welcome to stop by my place after the meeting if you would like. It is kinda on your way back, if you are heading to Billings, as I am in Belgrade. Either way, see ya tomorrow!

Chris,
I just bought this one to test out. I'll let you know my findings. Allegedly no fisheye effects and 135 degree view.
Amazon product ASIN B09BFBCPB8

You'll have spotters whenever you need them. I wouldn't mind a front camping for solo trips though! But at CM they will have experienced spotters helping through any tough spots. I am curious as to your review when you get installed.

406 Cruisers:

Which one to buy tho
Since I have HAM, I will probably just buy the FRS (LXT) for $30 after discount. Just to meet the requirement.

I got a text from @Hulk who has helped lead Cruise Moab for as long as I can remember… he said 406 Cruisers Is tied for third in bringing the most club members behind Rising Sun 4x4 and the Wasatch Cruiser gang.

Way to go 406 Cruisers!

Also, @bagochips76 thanks for bringing the Overland Cruiser’s shop as a Vendor! I’m sure that padded our numbers a bit!

Stoked to be back on slick rock.

Correction:
25% off for Midland Radios is only for the GXT (GMRS). 10% off for LXT (FRS). See attached.
For the record the licensing fee for GMRS is still $70 for 10 years. It hasn't dropped to the rumored/proposed $35 for 10 years yet, and probably won't until 2023.
There is no licensing fee for FRS (LXT Radios). Minimum requirement for CM is FRS (LXT).

More 40 prep today
-Set timing, set air fuel mixture, set idle, installed new spark plugs.
-Adjusted parking brake
-Tightened driveshaft bolts
-Adjusted orion shift linkage
-Got front ARB working

Then I went and drove it, does 65 mph easily. The 2F is smooth and as dialed as I think it can be without having efi.

Johnny have you set the valve lash? Makes a big difference if it hasn't been tuned in a while. Where did you land with the timing? Always curious.

Yes, set valve clearances last week to factory spec which iirc is .008 on the intake and .014 on the exhaust. Set the timing to 10 degrees
