To continue my whole "newb who knows nothing" schtick, I was hoping to chat up some of you wiser folk when it comes to differences between some of the Toyota Trucks out there.

I feel like I'm starting to get a handle on the LCs and what style, model, years to be looking for, but I came across a Sequoia yesterday and thought "great, another option". Is it actually bigger than the LC? Stronger? How's it different? And besides the much longer/cooler history of the LCs, how do you guys feel it stacks up?

4Runners are smaller than their LC brethren, but how do you guys feel these measure up besides size? Are they well-powered? Still good cargo room? Functionality? Etc?

Again, any and all opinions are highly valued. I have none of my own thus far and would love to hear what you guys think.

Ha. I was the one who posted it in classifieds this morning. Really, really pretty. Just outta my price range.

Cruisers are awesome. 4runners are good too. Look for a 3rd gen with the e-locker. I would skip the sequoia if you are doing any sort of off-roading/expedition travel.

I'd steer clear of the Sequoia, it's capable but not for anything to crazy without lots of mods... same with the Tundra, IMHO. :D

I love my 4Runner personally and I'm a fan of the V8 for the power. Even with all the added weight I put on our rig it still has lots of power.

Here's a thread showing the 60 in action. Man, I really love that rig.

I agree. There is nothing like a Cruiser and think we've all had several at some point through the years. I've had a 3rd gen runner and currently have a 4th gen with the V8. Virtually the same 4wd/AWD drivetrain as the larger 100 series, just not as much weight. I like the size and there is plenty of cargo room inside for what I use it for. Example this past weeekend: 3 adults, two dogs, motocross gear while pulling an enclosed trailer with 3 dirt bikes, 1 atv, fuel, tools, coolers....you get the idea.

Si. Temporary insanity. Severe seller's remorse to follow sale.

I'm wondering why myself.

"This Cruiser is amazing I had big plans for this Cruiser but things happen and I have to sell it."

I wonder what are the "things".....

Too much of the Spanish wine???

Kidding aside, Walter's 60 is really nice and clean. Hope all is well with him.

Question for you guys, if I were looking for a 4Runner (don't worry, not giving up on the Cruiser) what's THE forum to be looking at? I see a few out there. Don't want to waste my time.

Check out expeditionportal.com under the Tacoma/4runner section. Yotatech is good for mechanical stuff. TTORA leans more toward the Rock Crawling crowd, but still has good information.

MUD is good- check in the 4runner section. toyota-4runner.org is good for 3rd gen and later models. Yotatech is good for mechanical, at least the older model (1st gen, removable roof) is where I frequent.

I get most of my info right here on MUD. ;) We roll a 4th Gen.

Sounds like enough info. For a documentary. What do you want to have fun with? Then buy it.
