Hi Desert--good to hear about your trip: Can I ask a few questions..? I bought an HJ60 earlier this year and working on the process of setting it up as an expo rig for Oregon back county trips (near Oregon City currently)--
-Any tips on rig set-up for those areas?
-How about access-mapping: where do you get rough maps with those old roads--Oregon BLM or ?
-I won't be towing anything so setting up the rig to be 'self sufficient' as I tend to explore solo--most people don't like to go as far or as crazy of places that I enjoy.

Glad you got out and enjoyed before the seasons changed--Oregon mud is just around the corner!

I'll throw my 2 cents in here. As far as setting up an expo rig, I can't help much there. I usually just take food and drinks for a few days, but I like to eat quite a few of my meals at places like the Fields Cafe or the Frenchglen Hotel when I'm within a reasonable distance to them. As for maps, the best maps I've found are Amazon.com: Oregon Atlas & Gazetteer (9780899333472): Delorme, null: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51PvyLG2l2L.@@AMEPARAM@@51PvyLG2l2L They do a pretty good job showing back roads. I mean heck, if it shows the East Summer Lake Road you know it's good.
