Its 1:30 A.M. and i am awoken by the sound of police sirens. I get out of bed and walk over to the front window to see what all the fuse is about. I see a police car , but other than that all looks well. Then i notice that my 80 looks like it is parked sideways...WHAT THE ****.
I run outside to find my Cruiser had been smashed by a Chevy Lumina involved in a high speed pursuit at 80MPH. After slamming into my car he hit 2 others before coming to a stop.

His Lumina collided with my 200LB steel bumper and 35" tire with alot of force. Caused considerable damage.

  • Bumper Gone
  • Passenger Fender
  • Bent FRT Axle (blew out 3rd member bolts!!!)
  • Steering Linkage Gone
  • Oil Pan Smashed by Axle (Massive Dent)
  • Trans Pan Smashed by Drive Shaft (Dent)
  • Headlight and Grill Assembley
  • Exhaust Smashed by Wheel
Hood opens fine, nothing in the engine bay is damaged. I hope the frt frame rail is not bent. Bumper held up very well, i think it did its job. The Lumina did not do so well. Driver was Drunk and on Crack. Thank God he was insured.

What an as*hole! Sorry. Hope it gets sorted out quickly. Having the Police report should speed things up.

OMG, I'd be in jail right now for trying to beat that guys ass. Sorry to see that dude.. like you said, at least the crackhead had insurance.. what a rarity! Isn't your cruiser some $50k rare Crocodile edition from Craigslist?

Wow

That's all i have to say, sorry to hear the damage caused by the idiot, hopefully you can get it all fix or compensated.

If that bumper is frame mounted and it is pushed over as far as it looks then I would be shocked if your frame wasn't bent.

Other than that, it looks like your cruiser held up really well to a huge amount of force if it really hit you going ~80mph.

I doubt that final impact was 80, but after he bounced of the cruiser he totaled a lexus es300, then bounced of that and hit a mazda 3. Two of the bolts on the bumper ripped off, i hope that helped the frame out a bit.

80 saved your life, another toyota moment.:grinpimp:

just kidding, sorry to hear that, hope that guy spends some time in the clink for that one.

That SUX! :frown: Hopefully this all gets taken care of quickly and with minimal time and effort on your part. Dealing with insurance usually is no fun.
My oil pan and tranny pan are dented too... maybe it was a Lumina?:D

sorry to read this

interesting to see that the bumper seems to have folded in and then rebounded back out....

odd also that the Lumina does not seem to have had the DS bag go off...

damn i always hate it when this s**t happens, but like everying said your ok, he had ins. and it is a rare croc. edition, lololoolololo

Sorry to see that happen.

You live 2" from the ghetto, I'm surprised this hasn't happened before. :D

Bummer about the Cruiser, buddy. Hopefully what's visible is the full extent of the damage.

Not an ARB, but looks like your very stout steel bumper saved even more damage to your cruiser! Glad the bastard had insurance and that you weren't in the cruiser when it happened - rude awakening tho. Take him for all he's worth to get your cruiser fixed!
