How did you determine it's definitely the MAF sensor? I'm not questioning your diagnosis, btw, just curious.

I had a similar issue w/ wierd idle drops and throttle issues on my 2007. Ended up at OTRAMM and Ryan re-initialized the throttle body and it's been good ever since.

I also considered the SAIS bypass causing issues since the prior owner installed one. I removed it and tried running it without the bypass but still had same issues. Not saying what fixed mine is the correct fix for yours, but it's another possibility.

No problem, I just realized this thread is older and I didn't explain things. Basically it eventually got to the point where it started acting really weird on a consistent basis and threw a code for MAF sensor. I replaced the MAF and was good to go for another 9 months - 1 year-ish. And now within the past month it's started again with the same exact symptoms.

Really curious about the throttle body fix that worked for you though... do you know exactly what that entailed?

Makes sense - definitely could be the bypass. Do you have the bypass hardwired (soldered install) or the quick install with the connectors? I hardwired mine since folks were having issues with the connectors messing with the MAF signal.

To answer your question, Ryan had to 're-initialize' the throttle body using techstream. I imagine it resets the parameters for the throttle body but I don't know for sure. He went for a drive with me and tested some different things but we couldn't pinpoint the issue. So he tried it as a hail Mary and voila...all good!

Mine is not soldered. I haven't had a chance to really dive into things but I appreciate the lead. I'd thought I just had a bad MAF sensor since I eventually got a code and "solved" the problem but then it started up again recently so it's back to the drawing board haha

I've seen more than one, good MAF go bad now. That had the: Hewitt SAI bypass wired into MAF.

There is a better option, than block off. That keeps vehicle street legal and emission functioning as designed. With a replaceable S.A.I. filter MOD.
