Still need a trail leader for Cruiser Days, come on guys, step up to the plate or I'm going to voluntell someone to do it.

You'd think almost any local person could lead, I don't know too many people that aren't familiar with the francis/weaver traverse-secret lake-hale creek-sunrise lake trails.

My wife is working so I got the kids or I'd volunteer. Is anyone going with kids?

Actually, I don't know know the Weaver/Secret Lake traverse....

I think I get to be kidless for the Saturday evening and Sunday.

gahh...i gotta jam out this weekend guys. :bang: some outta town friends are in a week early and want to head out. we'll have to have another kid roundup soon...have fun guys

weaver/francis is easy, entrance is off the weaver lake road...to the right. it actually passes secret lake when you come back out, so if you want to hit that you have to double back. secret is a bit past weaver lake road.

Good job folks!

Thanks to all that worked very hard to make it happen (and even those that didn't work that hard :D ). It was very nice to see a lot of people we only get a chance to see once or twice a year and some new victims....I mean potential members. The shirts were awesome, the prizes good, the turn out descent (but I think we should advertise more next year). Great show!

and once again, thanks Greg!

Great event! Thanks to those who put it on. It was good to put some more faces to names and get to know a few more members.

I have a few pics up, mostly head shots, not much 'cruiser content
Cruiser Days 2010

Another Cruiser Days Saturday has come and gone and it was yet another resounding success, albeit with a slightly smaller turnout of about 70 Cruisers overall. The head count is difficult because Cruisers were coming and going all day long. The event in sunny Deas Island Regional Park went off without a hitch and everybody had a good time, especially Mike McTague, who went home with the coveted shiny new stainless steel BBQ that everybody else was hoping to win. For a while it looked like McTague would come up dry, but a the last moment he pulled it off, regaining his reputation as grand master champion of raffle prize winners. Lisa, (come over here and get lucky); where were you when we needed you? Wes won the title of "Most prize wins of the day". The real winners were the kids who bounced their brains out on the Bouncy Castle. We never heard one whine out of them such as “I’m bored” or “What can we do now?”, to their parents delight. Rob S and his crew did a great job of supervising the castle throughout the day. Thanks too, to Attilla for maning the entrance and keeping out the general public from the parking lot.

It was good to see some old friends and former Coastal Cruiser members coming back to attend our event as well. Greg Bowie was there with one of his rigs, although Sheldon G&S could not make it this year. Cerian (Cruiserland) also came and enjoyed himself and won a raffle prize (ratcheting wrench set) to boot. The bearded old dude FJ 40 Don (can’t park straight guy) also showed up again this year and snarfed his Bratworst from Peter’s Vending. Lovely, slimmer, giggly Carolyn, Aaron’s vivacious Ex girlfriend, sashayed in and actually took home a prize too. Aaron’s dad Walter, with his newly acquired BJ62, came trail-ready to wheel. Our new contacts Dorian (drifter dave) and Megan, who we met and wheeled with over China Head on the last trip, were there with their JDM 81. Marcin came and enjoyed the day, but left early to attend to his new baby and wife Annia, who went through a difficult birthing experience. Long distance member Mel Carroll, who is now living in Grand Forks couldn’t make it, but we saved him a couple of our new edition Cruiser Days T-shirts anyway. Glenn BJ74 and his wife Judy came over from Victoria. Glenn was absorbed circulating and remaking connections with various members of our group that he usually doesn’t get to see. T-shirt man Ryan was there with his tent and red scull/bones shirts. Martin S, walked with a great 191 piece rolling tool set by winning the most rusty Cruiser award. Mat R and Craig E took lots of pictures and will post them soon, hopefully with more details about winners. Some of the other top prizes were the new Spot 2 GPS Satellite locator system, the Exhaust Jack, and the privacy tent with personal s***ter. Good stuff.

A big thanks to sponsors for contributing prizes to our raffle. Thanks to Mike Nyiri who arranged a Heli Jet trip for two to Victoria. Several Toyota Dealers, such as Sunrise Toyota and Open Road Dealers sent us flashlights, cleaner kits, and antifreeze packages. Steve Tetu of EBI contributed a hub overhaul kit worth $200. and T-shirts. Ryan contributed some T-shirts too. Proceeds from the 50/50 draw will be sent to the Vancouver Children’s Hospital. By 3:00 p.m. the event ended and most people were happy to go home and cool off with a beer. Those with any energy left, headed to the Wig Wam Inn on Lougheed for the overnight camping event up West Harrison Lake with Drew.

For the drive shaft? No worries dude. Hoist a beer for me one night around the fire on the Alex Mac Trail. Life has different plans for me it seems these days, but I'll get out there on the long ones again in the future.

Advertise more? As an outsider with no say...I say: Do exactly what you are doing, and add on a swap meet. Don't charge, make more money from the increased attendance for the 50/50 and raffle. Pimp it as a Show'n'Shine Swap meet. Try that a few years, and see how it evolves. This fall pick the date, post up in the event section of mud, link to all club forums in a 1000km arc, and remind every few months.

like I said, advertise more :D.
When you finally get a break from life I look forward to hitting the trails with you again.

The swap meet worked well for me. I managed to sell/give away everything except a set of seat belts!

A great event. Thanks to all those that volunteered their time to help out!

It was great to put more MUD names to faces again this year and see some folks I haven't seen since last year.

Good job on the show guys .

It was great to see a bunch of new trucks this year.

And thanks to all that voted my 60 the worst in show :flipoff2:. I guess with the quality of the trucks there it wasn't a tough choice, since there wasn't much else for visible rust. Nice prize too :).

The swap meet part was good. Thanks to AJAEbj42, ElectricDyck and DieselDaryl for the free to low priced used parts I added to the hord.
