Heads up Cruiserheads,

Mark you calendars for Cruiser Days! Our annual show-n-shine and overnight trail run after the show.

More details to come but you can expect:

50-100 trucks throughout the day

Hougen Park is just east of Abbotsford right off highway one and the Cole Road Rest Area (CAMP TRUDEAU) exit.

Bring your own picnic lunch, chairs, tents, and field games; there is a ton of room

Raffle prizes! BRING LOTS OF CASH! (we are raffling off a fridge along with other great prizes!, including BEST and WORST and IRON BUTT awards! (and probably a time-capsule prize back to 1996, our first Cruiser-Days!)

Entrance by donation to cover costs for park rental and event insurance.

Registration by donation on day of event (just come to the tent) to cover costs for park rental and event insurance. Walk-ins are free

I’m certainly looking forward to this and 30 years is truly impressive.

I have invited the SVABC and signed up for $5/year membership. Thanks Jeff!

Hi @AJAEbj42 ... perhaps get in touch with Richard Sheridan at Freedom Recovery for draw prizes (or I could too).

If you know Richard, Franz, that would be great if you could; otherwise I don't mind reaching out.

Ladies and gents....

Since this is our 30th year, I'm thinking of having two grand prizes, either a winch and a fridge or even 2 fridges. Any preferences? Also, looking for other ideas for prizes; I think we might have enough tools, but maybe not? :)

Winch and fridge are great ideas. How about a starter upgrades like credit towards Coastal Offroad armour, suspension upgrades or a specialty roof rack? Any of those should be appealing for any level of vehicle build. Also, how about recovery boards?

This year I shall try my best to attend, would be super cool!!
My parts have all been repaired, new parts have arrived, so barring catastrophe I shall be coming over from the island!
I may have some odd and ends parts to sell. Is this allowed? lay on the grass with prices? won't be much but I really
need to spread my storage wealth a bit if I can organize it

Yes, although we haven't talked about it much in recent years. You are more than welcome to bring parts to the 'swap meet' :) Just remember, no leaky transmissions on the grass! LOL

Overnight camping and short trip plans after Cruiser Days:

After a long roadworks project it appears that Kookipi pass is open, based on reports from other sources. Intitial thought is to depart Hougen Park immediately after the event, head east to Chilliwack for supplies/fuel if required (fresh perishables so they don't suffer during the day), then up East Harrison. I don't think that I'm going to Clear Crk hotsprings, instead explore offshoot FSRs before the pass (Big Silver Creek) and possibly to Teapot Lake [49° 53.1739' N, 121° 50.4640' W]. If that is not feasible, then plan is to carry on up to pass to camp overnight up high. Drop into Nahatlach on Sunday, so those with a one night commitment can get home easily. Note that depending on weather and geography, I'd like to get out for some hiking/bushwacking into the higher terrain, either around Teapot or off Kookipi pass area. Hoping that this trip has an exploration on foot element, more than just a drive (although driving is fun too!).

Note that plans may change at any time :hmm:

Who's interested?

@bladedog Sounds like I am good to go for an over nighter. You know me, I'm always ready for some good ol bush wacking.

Got the 60 all back together. All the new stuff is in and compressor seems to work. I’m trying to encourage a couple more of the islanders to come over. Odd lot over here~🤫
I have a Vancouver friend with a 2024 Tacoma coming with me who is interested in the Cruiser world. So see how big of a parade I can conjure up!

Excellent, look forward to seeing you. Come to think of it, we're an odd lot here too .

Oh yes you are! Hoping that Andrew is joining us too.

Gonna miss this year's Cruiser Days, will be away for Patti's bday, looking forward to some good pics!

I'll come along. I should have enough food for a week, so whatever happens I'm in. I don't know any of you all, so find me.
