I read the posts and ran the diagnostics and I get no Cruise light blinking above 25mph. The light is solid below 25mph as the FSM states it should be and all other tests seem to have passed. If I understand correctly, I can pull my speed sensor which looks like it is the harness plug located near the speedo cable and clean it possibly correcting the problem before I buy a new one. Can anyone give me any advice on removal and what to clean it with?

Thanks in advance!

What year rig?

Regardless, it's very easy to remove. Just take a look at it and you'll see how to go about it. Only tricky part on a 91-92 (at least) is that the sensor has a looong plug wire that goes up and over the tranny, so it can be kind of tricky to get to the connector to unplug it.

As far as cleaning it: I dunno; electrical contact cleaner? Cleaning didn't work for me, plus you also have to deal with why/how it got dirty in the first place. The cause is usually a blown inner seal in the speedo housing that's letting gear oil from the T-case foul the sensor, so that issue needs to be addressed or the sensor will just fail again.

Easiest (but not necessarily cheapest) permanent fix is to replace both the speed sensor and the speedo housing. I can get you those part numbers for a 91-92 if you like.

So am I right it is the plug near the speedo cable?

Yes; right there where the speedo plugs into the T-case on the US driver's side. It's inline with the cable, and "unscrews" just like a garden hose would. In fact, you can take out the sensor and then screw the cable housing right to the speedo housing if for some reason you need to. (I did that while awaiting my new parts.)

Oh, and good job on the diagnostics. :)
