Cruise Control Acting Up

Hi,

I have a 93 FZJ80 with about 154K on it. I went on my fishing trip to Northern Quebec, about 1400 miles trip. At the beginning, let's say after driving for an hour or so, cruise control was OK. But after driving a bit longer, it started to act up. When I press the botton, the 'cruise' light stared to flash and I couldn't activate it at all. Sometimes just by pressing the botton, the light didn't come at all. Today, driving on the hwy for about 15 minutes, press the botton, 'cruise' light came on. Tried to set it, nothing. Any ideas, suggestions and recomendations would be appreciated.
