My cruise control & 2ND STRT button indicator lights are not coming on. I know the cruise control is actual working. But can't tell if 2ND STRT button is engaging the transmission to start for wet/slipper road condition like ice and snow.

Is there any relation to these two indicator lights eclectically, CPU, sensor, relay etc. wise, that would keep both from working?

Anyone know of and easy road test or anyway to check if 2ND STRT button is actually working, without indicator light coming on?

My cruise light has been out for a while, but the other two are still working for what that's worth. As far as a 2nd start function test, it is pretty easy to tell if you're starting out in first or second. I use second start in slow traffic and it shifts much less and has slower acceleration. Another way to isolate would be to put the shifter in second and push the second start, forcing it to only use second gear, so any shift would indicate that the button was not functioning properly.

I'll give it a try, when I get it back on the ground. THX

The bulbs are just probably burnt out. Should be able to change them out.

THX @DirtDawg. @ali showed me just the other day, how easy it is to change the bulbs. It's a good bet for the cruise control light. The 2ND STRT button perhaps it burned out also. But just realized I've never used the 2ND button, and when pushing on it in the LX I didn't notice any difference in RPM. I've got the seat soaking with Leatherique on LX and the LC on stands. But I should have a chance to test the 2ND STRT button in the LC today for comparison, to see if I can see/feel/hear a difference when pushed.

Funny thing is, I have the LC on stand to replace the CDL transmission relay and some other PM work. I was doing this because my CDL was working but both CDL & VSC indicator lights where not working. Just before crawling under, I tested (engine off) the CDL and both lights came on. Don't know if they're working suddenly because Ali and I were pulling and pushing on dash modeling, or the warmer weather help loosen up the relay. :hmm:

2nd STRT indicator light now working. Suddenly it started working while on a test drive to determine if it was engaging without indicator light.

I was doing takeoffs from dead stop pressing button once at each stop. I was able to tell it was engaging as transmission shift wouldn't happen until ~20 mph, and felt kind of like transmission slipping on take off while 2nd STRT engaged. I was also playing with shifting from D to 2nd when the light came on. I found by pressing the 2nd STRT switch while shifter in the 2 position the dash light would come on. I kept working the light on and off engaging and disengaging and now indicator light comes on in P, R, D, 2 and 1 most of the time, if not I start over with shifter in 2nd gear. It must be the internal (relays, sending units) were frozen and are now loosening up the more I use it.

I suppose it was just not used and atrophy set in.;)
