I’ll try to be brief, I’m looking at $4500 to fix my FJ60 with old picked parts to try and make it run. Power steering pump, radiator, carb, the list goes on and none of it guaranteed. I always planned to put in new engine but only owned it since May so wasn’t thinking THIS soon.
Who’s got a realistic number on what I should expect to spend on a re-man or plucked LS (I don’t need a brand new LS3), manual tranny and related expenses? I have body work in the future but just want to drive it reliably for now. Can I count on just a regular, good mechanic to do this or do I need a TLC ‘guy.’ None in Dakota South. More details the better if you’re willing to share.
