Still very much in the works, new 80 series is being built for the trip currently, along with my trailer.
Here is my tentative schedule.

Now if I'm driving all that way, and am within a few hours, I dont see why you cant crank up the old 80 and meet me somewhere. I'll by ya a beer!

Seriously, this can easily be modified as nothing is set is stone.

To help paint the picture a little better. I'm doing an internship right now and have been offered a full time spot upon college graduation in may. They agreed to give me 1 month off before coming in. At 24 days i feel like im cutting it close but even if it is balls to the wall the whole time, it should be cool.

If you guys think im going to be pushing it, please say so. I know its a lot of territory with little amount of time to play with.

* I ask this, because my father seem to think I've lost my marbles trying to do this trip in under 25 days, living out of a RTT with my girlfriend and only staying in a hotel every few nights.

We'll figure something out. You know how to get in touch with me. We gotta catch up....

And, I think your father might be onto something....but then again, I doubt he understands the "Land Cruiser" thing. ;)

It can be done, but you are going to push it and your daily driving estimates are slightly too "pushing it"...sometimes on road trips like this you see things along the road/trail, etc and you just feel like stopping and hanging out....throwing a crimp into your plans, but maybe edifying the experience.

Regardless, if you are going into the work world right away, you aren't get many vacations during the first few years...enjoy this one and live it up.

I'll be waiting....

;)

On your wat to San Diego give me a call we are on your way could feed you or take you for a short off road trip. I will shoot you a pm with all my information. And if you get chance to meet Beno do it

get a Costco card and use it as your waypoint. my 80 made it from reno to salt lake city and then SLC to cheyanne(sp) WY with 1 stop. Filler up and get a hot dog for the trail

For long road trips I always go to library borrow audio cd's of books and music. Copy 'em or dump them into your mp3. My favourite audio books are self help and negotiating techniques. I would suggest you borrow them and return them but unless you can renew the books on-line then you're looking at some over due fines for a 24 day trip.

Any updates Brandon?

Sorry its been nearly a month since you posted this.

My job I am taking after graduation has agreed to give me the time off. I have May 16-June 12th available to do this trip.

Be back by june 9th would be ideals, but we'll see.

I did post a separate thread regarding cost estimation.

I'm getting anxious now for this trip, but trying not to lose focus on final exams, etc.

I will PM you my number we are between Las Vegas and san Diego your welcome to stop and clean up , eat or work on the rig here. we are not far off the freeway and can offer roadside assistance. Just do it man. You will never regret it

Dude, he's not driving a 45. :p The 80 with trailer will be fine.

He might need ideas on local bars, restaurants, might use your shower, toilet, and eat your food.

Other than that, he's your regular 23 year old.

:hillbilly:

:flipoff2:

 And I thought I was rushing it by doing LA-Seattle and back in 4 weeks :D
About budget: how about getting rough and go camping? KOA has locations everywhere and it's pretty cheap for tents.

Left late this morning from VA.

Just got into my room in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Tomorrow's goal is Deer Trail, Co. then on to Boulder/Golden
