You know, that fancy rotary switch near the shifter. The one that you use to let the truck drive you out of muck so you don't spill your latte. Yeah, that one. Who uses it? It's been staring at me since 2013. Think I tried it once in some mud right after leaving the dealer (did not make the wife happy btw).

My 100 didn't have it, my 60 sure as hell doesn't have it so I'm a little clueless.

With snow season coming I would like to mess with it a bit, but of course it doesn't have a snow setting. What setting do you guys use for snow/ice?

Thanks,
Carl

I use the "Crawl mode" when I'm in deep mud, deep sand, deep snow, on uneven terrain that causes me to only have 2 tires on the ground etc etc etc... The "terrain modes" are for 4wd low, basically determines how much slip the system will allow in the tires... Crawl mode like you said is that little dial starring at you:) That dial I wish my 100 had, and really wish my 60 had also had:) In my 60 when the tires popped off the ground, or when I buried it up to the frame in sand, that was it, get the shovels out, tow rope, you get the idea! But in the 200 you have a get our of jail free card. My daughter buried our 200 up to the frame at the Ocean a couple years back, we flipped on crawl mode and 2 minutes later it just popped out, just shy of magic:)

if you are in compact snow and Ice and going down a steep hill, "crawl mode" is now a "hill decent"... works really well for that!!! Also turn assist works in conjunction with "crawl mode", so flip that on if you're in a tight spot...

I'm liking what I'm hearing. But which setting do you use in the snow? The menu has names like sand but not snow.

Thanks Kreiten!

Life is ROUGH when you can't crawl... ;)

Our driveway with a 15-20* grade was coated in a sheet of ice with rain on top 2 yrs ago and the 570 couldn't even make it up the driveway 2' without sliding back onto the road (new lx20 continental tires). Wife slapped it into crawl mode and she pulled right into the garage. Pretty impressive technology.

God I want your wife

If that happened to my wife she would 1) call 911 2) sell the truck

No kidding. I love the Mrs but no way she would figure out crawl control.

Terrain select and crawl mode are two different things... The "Terrain Select" only operates while in 4wheel low and while A-Trac and VSC are not turned off... The "Terrain Select basically controls how much "wheel slip" the system will allow, "mud & sand(snow) allow for the most slippage in the system, while "rock" allows for the least. Basically "terrain select" is a way of tweaking or fine tuning how the A-trac system will work while in 4low. Crawl mode(which operates while in 4Low) is a totally separate animal, while in "crawl mode" the only options you have are the speed(1km thru 5km) and whether or not you want turn assist activated. Keep in mind if the "center diff" is locked "turn assist" will not function... hope this helps ya out, let me know if ya got any more questions... -Kreiten

So, with the newer trucks, does the Crawl Control work in 4-HI? I know on my 2010 LX, it only operates in 4-LO.

that's correct, "crawl mode" only works while in 4Low on all 200's...

Only works in 4-lo in my 2013 Landcrusher.

what about crawl mode with ARB rear, front and OEM center diff locked? any benefits over just jamming it in crawl mode?
