That's good to hear! Did he get his truck fixed?

thanks Hugh for helping us out and other for the funny comments. we got turned around in there a couple times, went left, right & thought we went thru the "big creek crossing". long story short, we settled down for the night about 12 next to the creek. the next day we literally packed up and drove 200 yards down the trail and ran into Andy & Jamie by the big creek crossing.

all the boys had a blast, i think we will bring them to GSMTR.
wish we could have stayed another night Andy, sorry. came home with too much beer in the cooler :frown:

good time..

my tent did a good job of keeping the water out...rained really hard friday night. We went through more than one water crossing where the water came over my hood, ham radio worked great until I totaled my antenna with a tree limb.

Had a good time, no-one had any serious damage or breakdowns... I would recommend that everyone get a CB for their 4wd...cell phone coverage is spotty at best .

Friday I was late showing up to Jasper since I had an issue with my pickup...by the time I get to Jasper its raining and so I get to unload in the rain....I left my axle straps and tie down straps in the bed of my pickup since they were wet..... while we were at the Cove Friday, Sat, Sun AM...someone decided to take one of my tie down straps and one axle strap....the good part is they only took one of the four, but just wanted to post up so that people know to secure everything possible... I left my trailer and pickup in the usual location...never had an issue before.

yes, a cable tie fixed it. the carb linkage ball end fits into a cup on a bracket that pivots on the fire wall. that cup has two tiny slots in it for a hairpin clip. those little slots broke off so basically i just cable tied it back together.

Nice pics Elbert!

Holy water level Batman! Is that AC Cave?!?!?! That's really scary to think that where I drove my truck in there is probly 10-15' under water at that point. :censor:

Great video Sean. That certainly was a white knuckle crossing.

I think you are referring to Andy's pics.....I did not take any.

Had a great time, great meeting you guys that I hadn't before! Didn't get there with my camera, but have a few short videos that I will post up later.

A few of you asked about the tarp I was using; I got it half-price from sierratradingpost.com, but it doesn't look like they have any more. Here it is at campmor. In all of these pics they have orange trim and lettering (mine does not.) Maybe I got the 'old' model or something.

pics

Here are a few of mine. Did anyone get footage of us crossing?

Few more crossings. If you watch them over at youtube should be able to get higher quality.

Bonus trail footage: I used youtube's stabilization, gave it a sort of trippy 3D effect.
