I have not the slightest clue what lands he might be living in, if he doesn't specify. I can only work with the information I am given.Simpler in the US. Not sure about cruiserpilot's native lands.

. Me too, my trailer comes in at less than 800 lbs, loaded, and been using a 20,000 lb rotating lunette ring and pintle hook for years now, trail running with the occasional hard core stuff, with 0 issues.. Does it clunk? Only very occasionally, do I trust it? 100%. How long will it last? Longer than my lifetime..I use a traditional lunette and pintle for my hard core rock crawling with under 1000k lb loaded trailer(no brakes). it clunks occasionally, but really I rarely remember it is back there.
Assuming a rotating lunette or pintle hitch I see no difference in range of motion (360° axial, 180°+ pitch, 180°+ yaw*), so I'm not sure how this could be the case.snip.....
I feel it also offers more articulation then my Pintle/lunette combo ever could.
^ based on my personal experience. (old school peeps will still ignore the truth)
oops... meant "better" not more.I feel it also offers more articulation then my Pintle/lunette combo ever could.
reason I say better...Assuming a rotating lunette or pintle hitch I see no difference in range of motion (360° axial, 180°+ pitch, 180°+ yaw*), so I'm not sure how this could be the case.
*In Yaw there could be a slight difference, but it would be entirely dependent on the geometry of each specific tongue. In any case the difference could only be a max of about 10°, and that would still offer more than 180°
Do you know of a way to purchase one of these? I can't find any for sale in the US and can't find any dealers in Oz that'll ship it here. Thanks. My Treg is no longer available from any US seller, but you can still order one from Oz. I have used mine for twelve years and it is still great, though a lot of the plating is gone from the main pin and the C coupling where the poly block rubs. You can buy a locking pin for it. I sometimes use a small padlock in place of the retaining pin at the bottom of the main pin.

Vertical range is plenty adequate for anything but extreme rock crawling, lateral is limited by trailer contact with the tow vehicle, roll is unlimited.

I really like the coupler. It has been proven in the worst Outback conditions and is very popular Down Under. It is dead quiet in all situations. If I ever need to replace mine, I will probably buy another. I really like their Hand Brake version, but unfortunately it will not work with an extendable tongue.
