After owning 6 other brands I finally relented and bought a cruiser.

Now I know what all the fuss is about :D

Question. On the dash it has a "Idle Up" Switch. It doesn't do anthing. What is it supposed to do and how does it do it, does anybody know?

Regards

Mmmmm left side ... should say choke on it :slap:

No Its not the Choke. That is there near the steering colum. This is a Original type switch in the centre of the dash that connects to the wiring loom and is labelled "Idle Up"

someone has added that switch its not stock. Whats the motor? 2f or ?

you say it conects to the factory loom?

it "might" be the power antenna switch.

another possible idea, it might be set up to use the AC idle up, hit the switch and it raises the RPMs. I have done this to my fj40, but its not stock. Does the AC work?

Tks for the info Landpimp

Yup its the 2F Engine and the aircon works. I have flicked the switch and it makes no difference to the idle. The switch works ok (Checked with a multimeter) but even the Manual I have doesnt mention it in the wiring diagram bit it is connected to the car wiring loom its not a aftermarket thing.

If it is an A/C Idle up how does it do it is there a solenoid on the carb or something to increase the idle speed

Tks in advance

I have never seen nor heard of such a thing as stock, even in non US cruisers, most use a cable hand throttle.

the AC idle up(in stock form) works off a vacuume selnoid(mounted on headlight washer bottle on driverside) when the AC is turned on the uses vacume to pull the diaphram on the front(bumperside) if the carb.

Can you get a pic of this switch? and which spot is it mounted in? I honestly think its been added or is the antenna switch or something. What year is the 60?

I am baffled ???

anyone?????????
