Been doing it that way for a couple years now. Beats whailing on the flange or keeping the drift on the stud. I like the soft tube idea, I’ve been backing off the nut to overhang stud just enough to keep punch on target instead.

Do you replace the shock towers with Fords?
 
Landlord bent up this Hot box around the stove and plumbed Into the duct work right before I moved in. Old tenant says world of difference with this and spray foam in the ext walls. Been feeding the ‘dragon’ for a week straight. Finally a break in temps to allow clean out and wood run. Hey but basement is finally dry :)

Went by to see Tolleson but he was running bankers hours.

The shop is also full of cruisers. Always interesting to see ones I’ve never seen before in there View attachment 2537655


If he wasn't 3 hours away, mine would have been there 2-3 times before already.
