Serrated blade yes or no?

I don't own any knives with a serrated blade and I've tended to avoid having a serrated blade because I'm not sure how easy the serrations are to sharpen. What usefulness does having the serrations add to a knife? Worthwhile or not?

I say no. Of the few 1/2 serrated blades I've had, I don't recall using the serrations much other than cutting rope. Most of the time, it just took up useful room on the blade.

Agree with @FJ60Cam I used to think I needed the serrations on a blade, but these days a good sharp non-serrated blade does everyrhing I need.

Local leather craftsman whipped up these sheaths for us. One is for an old Schrade Sharp Finger that my youngest son picked up in an antique store. The other sheath is for my Leatherman Wave.
