What's your favorite daily carry edged item? Bodean - this one's for you; something to distract ya from the current fashion posting [that's taken off w/ a bullet by the way]

Benchmade Mini-Griptilian CPM-S30V

I had one of those. Lost one of those. Santa bringing me a new one.

Nope. This is actually useful. I can't keep up with a knife but I'll have fun watching what kind of money people pay for knives that I will never own.

Benchmade for utility when camping, working around the house & such. My everyday cary is a Buck Mayo TNT. Line lock is my favorite now.

Good topic. Have a small fetish for cutting tools. It's really a problem.

My EDC is this little Kershaw. @Bodean/@Bossman, you can get them at Wal-Marts for around 19 Seppo. Great little knife: - Most importantly, it has a bottle opener (and a flat head screw driver on the end).

When I go camping, I usually grab the the CRKT Ignitor. Serrated Edge comes in handy every now and then.

When I grow up, I will carry a benchmade, but right now I don't trust myself to keep up with a 200+ pocket knife.

I carried a mini griptilian for years. Broke the tip off the first one and spent months trying to talk Benchmade into letting me purchase just the blade. They wouldn't do it, nor would they let me send it in so they could replace the blade. Ended up losing it on a trail somewhere.

Bought another one and broke the top off of it. Did the blade replacement dance with Benchmade again. Ended up losing it too.

Been carrying a SOG Spec Elite Mini. This bad little bitch must be made of Hattori Hanzo's Japanese steel...I've yet to break the tip, and it will hold a razor sharp edge.

I lost two of my EDCs in the last month. Kinda bummed because they were old school CRKTs (M16 and KISS). Just ordered a Boker Kalashnikov 74 Automat after drooling over @beno 's knife last weekend. $46 shipped I wanted an AUS8 blade and deep pocket clip for greater concealment. Clip is reversible from side to side but always point up.

This is all I can have since I lose them as quick as I get em!

My FIL got me a Boker with a Tanto blade last christmas. I've carried it for a year now and have been well pleased with it.

So what do you guys use to keep an edge on you EDC? Mine needs sharpening bad.

Purty near anything, some of which I'd probably hate to own up to subjecting a nice blade to. They're ubiquitous; even Cheryl is always borrowing mine - preceded by the silly question "do have your knife with you?". A pocket sized folding knife is a Southern birthright. I can't even recall how old I was when my Daddy bought me one, a Case, that I'd been admiring at East Mississippi Lumber Co. I was rocking through life perfectly happy w/ my 2nd German Puma, the 1st finally lost during a MS February ice storm, when it was my my camping focused daughter who asked if she could put a Benchmade on her Christmas list - yellow handle please so it would stand out if she dropped it - introducing me to those and confirming that we'd done something right bringing her up.

Used the same soft / hard Arkansas oil stones everyone else has until we started getting nice Lie-Nielsen chisels for Mo. Those led to a trio of Japanese style waterstones, 1000 - 3000 - 8000, that are outstanding for knives too. Ohishi make good one as does Norton. When he moved his tools to his shop, I was back to oil stones.
