I dunno, really - but I wouldn't call it the most common config, thats for sure. But... it IS in the EPC so I guess its normal after all. Neat.

Anyway, here you go... looks like its hard to screw up:

I've had lots of trucks with these and I always used the same oil I was using for the engine.

I'd love to find one for my Bj. Probably not many around.

Most old vehicles ie 30s 40s 50s 60s and older land cruisers had oil bath air cleaners or from different countries. The dust and debris is supposed to collect in the oil bath before it goes into the engine.

I think any fluid that doesnt evaporate will work .

I recently added a turbo system from keith. Should that be a problem with an oil bath air cleaner? Maybe a dumb question.

You dont want to use an oil bath with a turbo set-up.

Why is it a bad idea to run an oil bath with a turbo?

Remember those old movies where a car is going down the road jerking going "bang bang bang pow " real cheesy sound effects!
That is the driver turning on and off the ignition and the smoke is from the oil bath filter spewing oil into the mouth of the carb.

If you are running a turbo you want the most amount of freeflowing air with the least amount of debris. A large paper element filter fits the bill . Plus oil baths dont like to be on more than 30 degree slopes, side front or back.

When it comes to volume of air that your turbo will draw, the oil bath will not be able to keep -up.

Any other opinion of using Oil Bath Type filter with turbo?
