I'm in So Cal....does anyone know of where one can rent/borrow a set ($1200 to use just a few times is not justified)? I tried to fab/jimmy rig something, but to no avail and using a public scale will not work b/c I have to lift the truck and all that to get Sprung/unsprung weight.

Any advice/locations/assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

No, I'm looking for scales like this:

Go to an airport, they use those kind of scales for weight and balance, any good shop will have some.

If you're looking for a shop might want to give Darin @ West End Alignment a call. I use him to get my cars corner balanced. Not sure if he can do what you're looking to do but worth a shot.

alot of the corner weight scales have a low weight cap, look for race car tuners/ race shops

make friends with someone who races dirt track cars in your area....

haha, dirt track racers in my area. I'd have a better chance of finding a bag a money lying around (then I'd just buy the scales).

Maybe I'll just buy, use, and return

damn what kind of a horrible world do you live in

It's called West Los Angeles, but where there are no dirt track racers there are a plethora of big boobed silicone breasted ladies. I think I'll survive.

If you are in LA you are more then welcome to use my hanging hydraulic scale. You can bring your rig by and we can use the forklift on it.

You can get the sprung weight (hanging hydraulic scale) then subtract that from the weight of your rig (public scale weight) to determine your unspring weight.

Should get you pretty close

If you are attempting to determine your spring rates for coilovers that will get pretty close.

Just an idea.
