I'm looking at the new Rugged Treks for my 2013 LX. Vehicle is stock. Will the 275/60/20s cause me any rubbing or fitment problems?

That's a 33". Should be fine on a LX. Might have to remove the little flaps in front of the tires, but should be good otherwise. You may be the first here to run that specific tire since I think it just came out.

Yeah I think I saw only one other post mentioning them. Right now Cooper has a $100 off promotion, which makes the tire roughly $215 when I buy 4. Not bad in my opinion.

Adding to my question above, here is the chart from Cooper's website. If I am on pavement 99% of the time, and might tow a light trailer on occasion, should I lean toward the 275/55R20 instead? I like that it is slightly wider and is an XL, but recognize that it is also an inch smaller in diameter.

I think it will be up to you on the 33 vs 32. I was going to come back here and say the published spec for the 275/60R20 is on the bigger side (this shouldn't be a problem even if it runs big, may just require more massaging, but still only talking about moving plastic). I definitely like how much tread there is with this model on the non LT sizes (16/32"). That's as much tread as a lot of LT sizes.

For a point of reference on the load, if you were leaning towards the taller tire. The 275/60R20 (115) still has a higher load rating than the stock tire. Max load of the stock tire is 2403lbs and for a 115 ISO metric tire is 2679. So I wouldn't be concerned about overloading the non XL tire compared to stock recommendations.

Also, since I had my spreadsheet out. The RCTIP for 275/60R20 (115 STD) on the LX is 30 PSI. If you go with the (117 XL) it is 33 PSI

Don't forget to post pictures/impressions after install. This tire may be a good option for getting a more aggressive tire in a lighter more compliant load rating. Would be a good option for the more moderate off roaders on here. I think the biggest knock on this model tire right now is the limited available sizes. Maybe that will change in the future.

Ok, got the Rugged Treks (275-55-R20) installed on my otherwise stock '13 LX. Great looking tire. Very aggressive tread. Fairly loud, especially after driving on the Michelin Latitude HPs for 25k miles, but not overbearingly so. Also the steering seems less precise, which gives more of a floating feel. I attribute this to the taller sidewall. No rub under any circumstance that I have encountered yet. The pics are neutral ride height.

Tires look great. I went from the Latitudes that came on my '13 LX to the Defender LTX M/S, so knowing how the Latitudes ride, I can imagine that it is a significant change in noise for you at highway speeds.

So after roughly a month with these how do you feel about them now? I just found them on Discount Tires Website and am intrigued.

Still like them. Louder than stock, and gas mileage has suffered a little, but those are expected trade-offs for me. Now I look back at my vehicle as I walk away. Did not do that before. 😀

makes it worth it! I run bfg’s in 275/60/r20 and have zero issues.
