Can some one tell me what's involved to accessing heatercore lines? I've gotta leak "back there somewhere". I can't seem to recognize exactly where the leak is coming from but I'm losing fluid and spoting :whoops: in my carport.
What's the best way to find out?!?

Uh, the valve cover gasket isn't part of the PHH replacement, so no need to get steamed. Kinda like saying "Darn it, I just replaced my tail lamp bulbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Heh.

true but he might have pent a pipe while removing the valve cover. Hopefully that's what he meant

lets not get too far ahead here...
Ricky what year is your truck??
if 91-92 you have no PHH and you probably got one of the coolant lines that runs down the ps of the block and back to the heater controls. If you have a 93-97 than I havent the foggiest idea but if you just did the valve cover gasket I BELEIVE that the rails is ther also and the pipes at the back tend to get in the way of the valve cover.

The leak may be from a very short bit of heater hose that connects to the down tube from the heater core hot water switch. Very difficult to access. Remove the drivers side front wheel, remove the splash guard on the right side so that you can see up and back behind the intake. Everything is done with one hand from there. Good luck.

AKA the PHH or Pesky Heater Hose,

Welcome EagleCap

Something doesn't agree between Eagle and Raven. The PHH does not connect to a "heater core hot water switch". Welcome, Eagle.

The PHH connects a metal down tube to the block behind the intake manifold.

down tube from the heater core hot water switch = metal down tube to the block behind the intake manifold
