We did the upper Gauley a few years ago in what they called a "high Adventure Boat" the little ones that only hold 4 and a guide... It was awesome, but we spent more time in the water than in the boat and not on purpose.

I've been on that bus a couple of times. That is an intense river at high flows. Have fun and watch out for "dildo rock"

The Gauley is an AWESOME river! If you liked it today, Go back in September - October for the fall Summerville Dam release (preferably on the "Bridge Day" weekend)....it's a whole other level of excitement! The river is completely transformed for those 6 weeks......
