Our PHysical assessment has also been studied and broken down by MOS to keep females out. 5 year study to figure that one out......no telling how much diverted drill sergeant time and money.

That person is in my division of Pfizer.

When I was rehired I hung out with then Him in Phoenix. Naval Intelligence Officer. Had lots of mutual experiences.

Now he's a she. A famous one now.

Learned how to setup a diff last weekend from a buddy at ACC.

Ring gear and carrier bearings installed.

In setting up the pinion, I sacrificed an output bearing by hogging out the ID with a carbide bit. I just need the overall height of the bearing for set-up. It eliminates the need to press on, press-off repeatedly. Once spacers are chosen, backlash set and checked, the real bearing gets pressed on.

But then you have to go through the whole backlash setup again, until you get the pattern right again. This involves moving the carrier bearings in/out on each side until you get the ring gear lined up with the pinion gear, then adjust preload until the backlash and rotational resistance is within spec. This part is tedious and frustrating.

Backlash goal 7/1000 to 8/1000. Finally got there. Rotation resistance spec'd 20-22 inch/pounds.

Of course, all this is made easier by having one of these bench mounted rigs to hold the chunk. Pull the chrome knob to release and the whole rig can rotate 90* at a time.
