That should stand out from the rest of the cruisers on there.

Susan,

Could you get the picture of the rear shock mount? I am interested with the 14" travel shock. Is that only do able since Alan put 4" body lift? Does he cut the OEM cross member and put a custom cross member? What kind of shock did he uses for the back suspension?

Does he make the long arm front suspension also? I am interested to learn how he that also. How much longer is the front custom arm? How much extra travel?

I am looking to find different gear ratio also. Did he change the ratio to run 38" tire? If so could you ask him where or what kind of modification he need to do to fit lower gear on it?

I am still learning about this truck. I hope Alan does not mind to share his expertise and experience.

100 series Cruisers have either 4.30 or a 4.10 gearsets(depending on year model). The 98 to, IIRC 01, have 4.30 and the later are 4.10. From my research it appears that 80 series gearsets will work in 100 series diff housings. So, 80 series 4.88 gearsets should fit in 100 series housings.

Cdan,

I heard the front are the same as 80 series but the rear pinion have different spline count. This info are from Doron and he got it from some differential shop that tried to install one for somebody he knew. No first hand experience so they might be the wrong.

Aha, got you Cdan. Nope not the same. Front is the same rear is not. Rear ring gear is bigger. Also, rear semi floater is a 32 spline count axle.

However it can be regeared if you are creative. :-)

Well, I was half right.

This is of particular interest as the rear diff housings overlap. The carrier, on the other hand, does not.

ANSWERS*******shocks are mounted to the factory crossmember by tilting them inboard of the current upper shock mount tray. Weld the rancho shock mount tot he top of the crossmember on these factory tab things that are there youll see with 2" lift the shocks would work also under thelittle tab which would make welding easier without teh body lift. Either should work though with no body lift.
I used a Rancho 9012 EB1 to EB1. The lower mount gets a little grinding and a longer bolt to seat the smaller bushing then the factory bolt easy!! I used a spacer for rear suspension but one could use OME from Christo easy SLee easy.
Stock gears -gear mod is very expensive and not necessary for 36" or under
I have no problem with 38's over mountain passes at 75 with plenty of throttle
front arms are long travle compared to 4 runner and many other SUV's I got plenty of crap for them in Moab because everyone has seen a 4runner or explorer IFS doing nothing. THe good news is the arms from the factory they are 4" longer EACH side = 8" !!!!!! longer thatn most IFS trucks. If you look under the front it looks like a hummer or derest truck the arms are so long. One could make the arms easy I could one off a set here in a day or 2. The axles would be expensive to have made. Buy a set of OME shocks from Christo Slee get another 1 or 2 of travel and offroad aim up so your front goes thru obstacles level and get the rear to twist up good so it can follow thru any hole. This also make vehicle much more stable than 14" travel front and rear. There are very few situations that this will not work I have wheeld this way for years. Another hint no rear sway bar
Another hint Slee off road supplies all my off the shelf parts (shocks spacers lights d rings ARB lockers ring and pinions snorkels) everything else I build. Slee off road is easily the best cruiser 80/100 parts house in the nation

that last post is from me ( Alan) my wife and I are sharing screen names since I can seem to get the computer away from her. Sorry for my typos I was typing way fast and am trying to get to church on time SUnday morning 8:20 still have to do my hair@^#$^ just kidding!

No contest........... :flipoff2:

So, anyway, I have been in the new car dealer parts business for just over 25 years (19+ with Toyota). That does not mean that I am the best but I did not just fall off of the turnip truck either. ;)

Eeeewwwwww! :o

I will type a little slower so you rednecks can understand :flipoff2:

The shower "rose" is where the water comes out of in the shower, and "Didnt come down in the last shower" means same as the turnip truck quote, in other words, havent been here only 5 minutes :slap:
