About to fit an toyota electric locker, do I stick with electric or is it better to go with a cable conversion?
Have read that if you fit the ECU controll then the speedo terminal needs to be earthed .
Has anyone got a sketch on what need to be done.to allow diff lock in high range. Thanks

If you can get a cable locker then do so - but make sure the cable will fit your application. if you use the e locker then don't worry about ecu's and all that - just wire up a momentary switch with 2 relays and you are good to go. Do a seack on toyota electric locker install and you will find tons of info.

Like Iso said we have a few threads on that one out here, you e-locker is going to be 24v or 12, if it is one that came from JDM (like most do, they always keep the good stuff for themselves) then it will be a 24v. If you are not too woried that you will abuse it I would keep it like it is, and just "hot wire" it, you will know if it is engaged or not, you really don't need the light.

Cheers,

Michael

Interesting.
If it's like the Tacoma E-locker Downey Off Road sells a cable conversion for this.

The taco e-locker is different than both the 80 series e-locker and the 7x series e-locker. You can modify the Downey to work but not sure if it is worth the effort.

I got lucky and found a few sets of 7x series original cable lockers, I also like the fact that when I put them in the new 7x series I get the big axle in the front again:doh:

Cheers,

Michael
