Converting Aisin winch motor to series wound (1 Viewer)

Hi. Curious if anybody has converted the factory 80 series a1-1000 winch from a permanent magnet motor to series wound?

I have issues with the winch locking up under load and not spooling out. Pondering options for a bit more HP.

I really like the freespool on the Aisin but I need better reliability on the drive end

I don't see any series wound motors available off the shelf for that winch. Did you find any?

If it's something you have your heart set on, a quality winch motor from another manufacturer can have it's shaft machined to match the Aisin. I've done this before.
