I cannot find any of the replies I sent to people that sent me a PM. I had a couple highly detailed welding replies that I sent and I want to forward to another member (or post) and I cannot find anything other than the initial PM sent to me.

BTW: The site looks GREAT! I don't like change (understand it's necessary) and I have been pleasantly surprised! Great job for all your hard work!

Hmmm...all if my sent and received were intact...imported stuff was all in separate conversations tho...

All my conversations are showing replies as "0" with (2) participants, yet I replied to all of them, some multiple times. I cannot find any other location or option to turn something on or off to get them.

You've gone in and read them? Some of those are your individual sent messages, some your individual received.

While I don't want to completely hijack this thread, I cannot locate ANY of my PMs on the new site -- sent or received. Is there a trick to locating them? When I click on the "Inbox" there is a reference to something called "conversations" (I assume this is what PMs are now called?) but the inbox is empty and there doesn't appear to be link to a "sent" folder.

My first visit to MUD in over a month and I'm shocked at all the changes.

@GregRay - Select your Inbox and at the bottom of the recent Conversations list is the "Show All..." link...select that and you should find everything in there.

The new setup is nice...but obviously, some oddities exist between the old and new.

Yes, I have gone into each conversation, to read the entire conversation, and it is as if I have received 11 PM's for the first time, as it shows that I have no relies to any of the 11 conversations. I have clicked on "Show All" at the bottom and it changes nothing, as that is its current setting.

Specifically, I had a conversation with Kernal about welding. We went back and forth twice, so he sent me a PM, I replied, then he replied to me, and I replied back a final time. The only part of the conversation that shows up is the very first one that he sent to me.
I have clicked on EVERY possible link I can find trying to turn it on or find something, but I am coming up empty.

Edit: I went in again and re-read every post. I cannot see ANY of my replies UNLESS someone replied back to me AND they kept the message attached (like CDAN), however, I cannot see my FINAL reply to anyone.

I thought maybe there was a pattern of only those with Silver Stars, but I don't think that's the case. maybe a minimum number of posts?.... just speculation.

I can't find any of my sent messages either. They ended up in the recipient's inbox.

I think with the new conversations format private messages are handled more like private forum topics. The concept of inbox/sent items is no longer applicable and the sent items didn't get ported over to the new conversation/topic format.

Thanks, but I tried that and there is nothing there -- other than one new "conversation" I started this afternoon. None of the old PMs (sent or received) are there. I don't think it will be the end of the world if they're gone, but it's odd that the old messages would just be deleted as part of the site update (unless, of course, that was part of the design).

@GregRay - actually, you would might be one of one that didn't have at least their received Inbox items remain intact...in the testing that was done, I didn't receive any notification that there were Inbox/Conversation issues. (Supporting members had about 3 weeks to review prior to the final processing)

I have no way of knowing on Sent items...I never kept mine, but thought they were supposed to import/migrate. My apologies if they did not.

Try looking above what your screenshot shows and clicking on "Conversations You Started". I'm finding sent messages there, even ones that weren't replied to.

Okay; again, it isn't a big deal to me. FYI, I'm not sure if a "Silver Star" equals a "supporting member", but I never received any notice of the site update/changes or a chance to review anything before the changes took place. Not sure how the communications about this were handled, but there apparently were a few oversights.

Supporting members (includes Silver Stars) had a big notice at the top of the old forum for 3 weeks...with a link/invite to view the test site. A bunch took advantage.

ALL users had a week warning notice.

Outside of emailing all 70k registered users, I believe enough was done. No surprise tho that a few were missed, no plan is perfect. My apologies that you missed the notices.

Thanks; no hard feelings at all. Even though I'm usually on the site at least one a week, over the last few months I've been unusually busy with work and other things, and somehow must have not paid a visit once during the three weeks the notice was posted.

Alright, thanks for checking Woody... I'll quit trying to find it again and do my research over. I've probably already wasted more time jacking with trying to find it than what it would have taken to redo it anyways.

If that's all I encounter that's missed, I'm good!

Thanks Woody! I am still VERY appreciative of what all you've done here!

I'm bummed some stuff didn't work...thought sure all the bases had been covered...I've got a list of things that aren't done yet, but at least I have a path/plan for them.
