I was tinkering in my garage yesterday when I noticed that a maxpedition pouch I had laying around fits perfectly in the center console lid. Double sided velcro and bam, more storage in the console lid.

Is there one of those locking storage safes available that can be inserted here like on the Tundra and Sequoia?
The Leatherman case reminds me of the time when mine went missing at the car wash. Ugh.

Doubtful. There's not that much aftermarket for the 200 series. You may find one for a different vehicle that fits.

There's nothing available for the coolbox aside from the little tray.

There's always the option of swapping out the coolbox for the standard storage box which is significantly larger. You're looking a lot of dollar signs in just parts. I priced it out but can't remember how much it was. Around $700 I think. Plus, you'd have to evac and refill your A/C system. I considered it but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it.

and honestly you don't want a storage box as deep as that cooler, things will just get buried...

Then drive over to Utah and we'll swap parts. Having too much storage space is a 'problem' I'm willing to accept.

it's prime real estate next to the driver, and it is basically unusable at 75 mph. Just not functional. Go ahead and try to get something out of the pit without taking your eyes off the road.

I can't rummage through my glovebox while driving either but I'd like a larger one.
I'll never turn down more space to store stuff. Mostly Peanut M&Ms

Regardless of whether you switch, you may want to pick up one of the storage dividers that almost everyone on here has. Really improves the console storage space.

On the subject of the center console, I picked this up recently (removed the emblem) and like it. It's a place to rest your elbow every now and then on longer drives and doesn't interfere with the functionality of the console.

I spent 30 hours in the truck from Friday through Sunday driving to Utah, wheeling, then back again, and something like this would have been perfect. Going to order one for my next trip to Utah in 10 days

When I bought my LC, I thought that the coolbox was useless frippery. But last year we went on a three-week road trip. It was a real pleasure to always have cold bottles of water on hand. Before we left Boston, I tossed a case of water bottles in the back. At each stop, I would stock up the coolbox with water bottles.

I wasn't sure about paying 22 bucks for 2 little cushions, but along with that center console pillow they're great.

Got these to widen distribution of force on the shoulder and lap belt. These are money. Makes the seat belt more comfortable and really distributes force much better. I have the shoulder portion positioned higher.

you may be missing the tray that goes in there when there is no cool box. it gives you a usable storage area and can lift the tray out to get to the stuff that down deep. number 7 in the pic.
