So I've been on the fence about how to coat my Dissent equipment to match the UCA46 cladding on my Cashmere beige metallic LX. Paint VS Powder Coat.
In my pursuit I picked up a custom mixed can of Spraymax's 2K single stage basecoat. This has the paint, activator, hardener, and clearcoat all mixed in, resulting in the best spray can I've ever used. Now I am considering possibly painting the cladding myself, and possibly some equipment such as the sliders.
Here are some pictures of the test pieces. As an option, you can go over the painted piece with 2K Clear as well. I'm going to try some very light 2000+ grit sand paper to test out the metallics acceptance of wet sanding. This could be a great option for gear that gets scratched on the trail often.
