Condensation leak on my floorboard? Anybody know where to source this part. (8 Viewers)

I've read what I think are all the posts on clogged drain hoses and leaks coming from the cooler cover behind the 100 series dashbox. Water/condensation dripping into the passenger side floorboard. I cannot find anywhere online the gasket that folks have referenced anywhere online (cover gasket: evaporator cover gasket 88578-40040 for the 88891-60040 cooler cover). I hope that it's not that I'm inept at searching online or that I have missed somebody's previous post.

Anybody know where I can find these or if there is a replacement part number? I can see in threads that even when they were still obviously available folks sometimes used what they had on hand - .165 spline, etc.

Vendors? Best solutions?

You can still buy the OEM covers themselves for $30-50 but I hate to pay that just to pull the gasket out of it (assuming they come with the gasket as indicated in the pics)

What have other folks done? Where are you finding the parts?

That's not a valid US part. You'll have to buy it from an overseas vendor. I'd suggest you email Dave Stedman at Japan4x4 and ask him if he can get it for you.

not an import as far as I know. it has independent suspension in the front and the 4.7L v8 in it

I have heard him say for the gasket he uses toyota fipg which seems like it would be better. I think the toyota part is foam and will break down. If fipg will work any part store fipg will hold up to condensate water.

You’ll be completely underwhelmed at the OEM foam gasket, and more so when it starts leaking again in a few years. A couple years ago I used a piece of rubber window screen spline. It worked great.
