I’m looking at a LC in Utah. Getting a PPI. Carfax showed a front end accident that airbags weren’t deployed.

this reveal doesn’t look right to me. Should I be alarmed?

The front and back bumpers are plastic, held by plastic tabs. I was hit lightly in the rear no air bags went off, but the plastic bumper was cracked. It is probably missing the cheap plastic tabs that hold it.

It does move around a lot with the these lose/missing screws.

The front is easy to take off, I took it off quick when I did full replacement. It's is very very filmsy unless it's clipped every so many inches.

Looks like poor quality repair work to me, and the bumper will scratch the paint on the metal fender where circled below. What is that strange added on piece in the other circled part? I've never seen that on a Cruiser before, but whatever it is was poorly installed as well. Based on this picture, I wouldn't buy it, but it would be helpful if you added more pics so we can see what's going on.

From a nation wide PPI company. Had scheduled this as a pre-pre-inspection.

“This is a decent running vehicle with some issues of note. The body and paint is in relatively good condition but there are fit issues from previous body work. It appears that the front, along with the entire left and right sides have been re-painted. The right front fender lines are not crisp and appear to be rounded off. The fender appears to have been repaired instead of replaced. Body work on this fender was poorly done. The front portion of the roof has some fairly large dents. (see pics) There are a few scuffs and chips that have been painted over. Lines from hood too fenders are not evenly spaced or flat. The underside shows areas of minor surface rust. See pictures. Suspect damage was more than listed in Carfax.”

Ya, that's a dealbreaker assessment.

I would be very concerned with what is behind the bumper that you can't see and was possible just as sloppy of a job.

You would need a huge discount to buy that.

Thanks for the help. Some lessons learned for next attempt. Thank you in advance for help then.

Meanwhile we took advantage of the road trip and saw the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum.

There are so many nice ones out there, take your time. The crew is right, if it looks this bad from the outside...
