Thanks! Good luck with your build!
Thanks man!
Just got most of my main welding finished on my Harbor Freight 40x48 trailer conversion.
Welded the entire frame together.
I used the original tongue as the rear bumper/extension piece to make it 6' long. That has the VIN/serial # on it as well.
Used old bed frame angled rails to tie it all together and strengthen the crossmembers.
Added a 3500lb axle and shocks along with an 11' 2x2 1/4" tongue from front to back with rear hitch receiver for a 4 bike rack.
33" tires on black steelies.
Used a neighbors old workout rack tubing to make the rear shock mount crossmember and the tongue supports.
Next up is a box on top with doors, slide out cooler, solar/battery setup and weld a rack all around it.
Took a few of your ideas and just doing this on the cheap. No where near your quality of work but it's gonna work out nice. i may start my own build thread for other Harbor Freight owners.
Here's some pics.

Is a VIN that difficult in your location? In KA I can create my own for a trailer and the DMV is fine with it. They just won't tell you directly that you can do it.

I spy a certain steeker that says "FYYFF". :)

Well as far as I know, in Ohio you need a Title to register it but I think you can also have a bill of sale and a certificate of weight. Not sure if they give it a VIN with that. All I know is mine came with a Title and VIN (I believe it’s a VIN) when I bought it.

And yes, are you on ADV??

This build was skill, talent and art! Simply amazing!

This is exactly the suspension set up I was looking for to model my build off of.

Thanks!

Suspension is 5 years old and going strong. I looked into using axle-less suspension for better performance over certain types of terrain, but in the end I preferred using off-the-shelf suspension parts that I can quickly and easily source for repair/replacement. It was also less than half the price of the axle-less. No complaints.
