Ever wondered how all the Land Cruisers compare in terms of some of the major parameters, like chassis strength, body steel/glass thickness/strength etc etc, off road capability/technology aid, too.

I'm interested more in a horizonatl comparison, not an evolutionary comparison (i.e. North America 80s, 100s 200s). But, any comments are welcome!

Interestingly, how the 80s series (available here in the US) compares with the 70s series still sold elsewhere, then, how the 100s series (direct successor of the 80s) and the 200s (direct lineage from the 80s, 100s) compare with the 70s.

Then, how the 90s (Prado/4Runner/GX) compare with the 70s and the 80s.

-40s seem to rust out and usually need a frame up rebuild at some point
-60s are underpowered rust buckets
-70s are capable off-roaders in the right configuration (avoid the LX)
-80s are the best balance of capability and driveability, plus are good off-road - especially the diesels with full lockers
-100s are great daily drivers but suck gas like a mutha. good off-roader is you don't mind banging it up
