This is my first visit to this forum since until the other day I've been an FJ62 guy. I just moved to an '05 4runner limited with all the bells & whistles (almost). This is quite a dramatic change for me.

Took it off road yesterday for what I'm sure was it's first time ever.

Pic looks like you're about to test the factory slider!

What do you think so far? I haven't been off road, kinda figured this will be more like a wagon than a truck due to the lower stance. Dirt roads and trails.

It's a far cry from the 60 series but I knew that going in to the change. It did okay for a stock Runner and I did test the factory 'slider' which failed.

V8? Some guys who offroad have had the engine mounts collapse into the hollow frame when they were rough on them. They apparently do well off road with a lift, armor, tires. Mine is a highway car, and it's good for that, does well at speed on snow.

Yes, V8 & X-REAS Scott, very nice highway driver. I'll be doing much less off road with this and a lot more cross country so it should do just fine for my needs.

I wanted the X-REAS and V8, but found my base-model too cheap to pass up. It seems very stable on the highway, I'm happy.

Put on a couple hundred miles today between highway and mild off-road. I'm pleased with the mix.
