Here are a couple of ideas (for discussion/consideration):

1. Is the club still affiliated with the TLCA (as a TLCA Chapter Club)? [The website says "Colorado Springs' TLCA Affiliate Since 1996"]

We've not been a Chapter Club for approximately 3 years because the stipulation USED TO BE that club officers must be TLCA individual members, and some officers were not and didn't desire to be TLCA individual members. UPDATE: I checked the TLCA website and it appears that they've changed Chapter Club requirements such that now ALL Toyota 4x4 owners in the club must be TLCA individual members.

2. We talk about this relatively often...the club name "appears exclusive" to Land Cruisers, but of course we welcome any and all Toyota / Lexus 4x4's. We should include language near the top of the webpage, in the "About" section perhaps, to say "welcome owners of 4x4 Toyota and Lexus vehicles".

Hey SAS! Good to hear from you, and thank you for the feedback.

1. I'm thinking you'd likely be the best person to know if we're still a TLCA club. I don't have any recent records to point to us being one. I'll remove that verbiage (which I just copied from the old site).

2. I second your feeling that this does comes across as an exclusive Toyota Land Cruiser club. I'll update the verbiage to also include that.

Look forward to seeing you soon!

I like it .. We should schedule a run With a group picture with a cool backdrop being the goal Getting as many different Toyotas as possible.

I went to the TLCA website (as referenced by SAS) and read the information under the CHAPTERS heading on the main page.
Under the Table of Contents heading, sub, Applying for TLCA Chapter Membership section is the following verbiage:

Applying for TLCA Chapter Membership

OK, you have an active club, but you still don’t know how to make your club a Chapter of TLCA. The step by step procedure is as follows:
  1. Contact the TLCA Membership Office and tell them your desires. Now is a good time to discuss the pros and cons of TLCA Chapter Membership and resolve any questions concerning bylaws or any other matters.
  2. Hold a vote within your club to become a TLCA Chapter. (All Toyota 4×4 owner members of your club must become TLCA members in order for your club to become a Chapter, so a majority vote by your club members in favor of membership is required.)
  3. Inform the TLCA Membership Office that you are ready to submit your proposal for Chapter membership to the TLCA Board of Directors
  4. Forward a complete set of club bylaws and a complete club roster to the TLCA Membership Office for formal review. Your club roster must show who is already a current TLCA member and who will become TLCA members.
With the requirement of all members to be TLCA members to become a TLCA chapter, I would infer that to maintain TLCA Chapter status all members would have to obtain and maintain membership to be active members of the individual club.

We will discuss this subject at the monthly meeting.

I sent in the question to the TLCA concerning the number of members of a club that needed to be a TLCA member. I will not hold my breath waiting for a reply.
