I noticed this about two weeks ago and the first thing that popped in my head was transmission and a lot of $. It was lower 60's outside and I started the car and pushed the pedal to go but it was VERY slow to get going til I drove about 50 ft then it was normal. Didn't matter how much I pushed the pedal, a toddler could accelerate a tricycle faster.

This has happened several times mostly when colder but then once when it was 82 outside.

Then today at work I went to grab lunch, backed out of my spot didn't feel anythign weird until I put it in drive and again the sluggish problem. Floor it, engine won't go about 2K rpm until the car has moved about 50 ft then fine.

The car is not in the 2nd mode, oil change about 2.5k ago, cleaned TB about 500 miles ago.

I'm kind of at a loss here. Any ideas out there? Could the TB cleaning have something to do with it?

Check your air filter and clean your MAF sensor then double check the TB. I would also run a can of BG 44k or similar through it, if that doesn't fix it then you have ruled out the easy stuff. May also want to think about the fuel filter.

This surely has some relevance to my problem. I was driving a few hours ago and slowed to a stop to say hi to a friend on the sidewalk and my engine just flat out died. With a date in the car...man... Is this a fuel system issue?

I posted in someone else's thread a while back about my engine dying when wheeling up steep inclines when I would stop on the way up if I couldn't make it.
