I have a 50,000 mile 2007 Land Cruiser with hydraulic suspension.
Four or five months ago I noticed a muted, high frequency "popping" sound coming from the vicinity of the left front wheel well during the first start of the day.
At first, the popping would occur if the truck had not been driven for two or three weeks. Now it occurs at every cold start in the morning. The popping disappears after two to three minutes and does not occur during subsequent starts the rest of the day.
I do not notice any change in ride height when the popping occurs. The truck is stationary when the sound occurs. THe sound is not present when in motion.
Any thoughts on what might cause the sound? Could the exhaust manifold be a candidate?
Thanks,
Jeff
