I was allready starting a new thread about this issue, but then I found this thread.
I'm in need of changing my leafs on my HJ61, so I thought why not go for coils. It's possible to do it now in Finland, earlier it wasn't. Here in Finland I think there is at least 2 HJ 60-61 whith coilsprings.
I'm going to use links from a Mercedes G-wagen or HDJ80, as they are similar in weight and power as HJ61. Links must be factory made to a vehicle of same size. I think it's better to stay with 60-62 axels than axels from 80's. As I know the axels on 60 are stronger.
Because I'll be doing the jobb by myself it will be less expencive than putting in a new OME leaf spring kit.
 
Al has plans for a full coil mod..... some day.


I was thinking about puting a 60 body on my 80 then it would have a torque converter, fuel injection and coils :)

the more i think about it I really do want to do this.
At least its a nice dream
