I think it's going to be OK. I have a long spline from High Angle drive line that wasn't an issue with the lifted springs and SOA. I needed about 2.5" of compression on the previous set up and I don't think I will need anything close to that now.

I will know more tomorrow as the last link and drive shaft will go back on!

drive shaft on and all the links are on!! (well, I gotta redo one mount as my bolt is to long and has clearance issues, but it's close!)

Bump stops just need one last test fit and I can weld on the fish plates and then it's on to the CO hoops!

only about 3/4" of slip through the complete range of movement for the driveshaft.

I didn't plan it that way but that's the way it worked out!

I find it unreal the droop and twist that can be accomplished in a linked suspension. I can't wait to get the back started.

I have had a mild chubby reading this thread. Your work looks great. In a few years I will go down this route(I hope)

This is turning out great! Always thought of it on mine, I am glad to see someone having the balls to do it!

Looking wicked Brad. Can't wait to see it. Same coil overs in the back? Different springs or no?

Thanks!

It's getting a set of air bags in the rear with a set of smoothy King shocks. Not sure if this is the right route to take but I think with the loads and variation in weights in the back, the air bags are going to be nice. Time will tell.

have you picked a bag? I can send you my part number that I use. Has about 14" of travel or so and is 6.5" diameter or so. They are pretty good so far.

No bags yet. That would be great if you can post up a part number

firebug number W013585423. about 150 each or so. Can't wait to see this thing finished,

Good day in the garage so far. I got the astro van hydro bred up to the corvette master and got the fire wall plate done. Everything fits perfectly. I just need to get some lines made and the clevis modified for the brake pedal.

I also got a cool cross member bent up over at jps house of fab!

so first you bend up a rad piece of 1.5" .250 wall DOM and then you bolt the two flanges together with a washer in between. Weld both flanges in place.

Then weld the cross member in place. Next comes the neat part, remove the bolts and tap out the washers. Take your sawz-all and cut the piece of DOM. Perfect fit.

That's a pretty cool trick man. Looks like she's coming together. You'll enjoy the hydroboost :D

Fish plate completely weld, blasted and painted.

Steering shaft cleaned up and ready to install, it's a long sucker, over 6.5" over stock

And that's an installed coil over with the weight of the truck sitting on it!

right now its at just over 6" I expect it to settle an inch or so.

Looking sweet! I am wanting to use the same c/o on my truck. I got some RuffStuff towers suited for 12" c/o's. Not wanting a big shock tower with a cross bar but by your pictures I am really curious how things will work out on my truck in terms of c/o, shock tower, ride height, ect.

Keep at it, love this build! Be very cool to see some pictures/video of this thing on the trails when you get to that point.

Cheers

I was really surprised how much flex in the frame there is with the towers that tall. I ended up using short 1" tube bracing on the top side and I still wasn't happy so went with the cross brace. I will measure there hieght to give you an idea of CO ride height and frame height.

The brace itself was easy but it means new cross over piping, new air box ect.

I think i could have fit 14" CO but the bump stops would have interfered on the droop... Or I need to go with the IFS hubs and go wider, which I don't want to do at this time.

Hey Brad, I tried the jeep air box many years ago on the 1hzt fj45 build, it seemed to be a little bit small and went with a Donaldson..
