hello all,
I've been slowly going through my 80 that I got from a guy that did a 1-hdt swap with an Australian 5-speed manual tranny.
He did a super nice job, but didn't figure out the cruise control and ABS light before I got it.
With the help of MUD guys I got the cruise control working and now I'm hoping to figure out the AbS light.
The cruise control issue was because there was no neutral safety switch installed or hooked up during the conversion so the truck always thinks it's in park. You can start it without pushing in the clutch.
So some guys walked me through on how to trick the cruise into thinking the truck is moving by putting power to the cruise module.
Anyhow the truck has a code 44 ABS light on and I'm wondering if this is a similar issue?
Code 44 is open or damaged circuit deceleration sensor. The previous owner tried a couple different deceleration sensors and couldn't get the code to go away.
The ABS still works, but the light is on and sometimes it acts up .
So I'm wondering if since there isn't a neutral safety switch, does the truck thinks it's in park and then that messes with the deceleration sensor?
Any 5-speed swap gurus out there run into this?
Any suggestion for a wire I can run power to near the deceleration sensor to trick it?
This has been bugging me for a while now and it's one of the last things to work out with the truck.
