I notice there are quite a few members of Upstate that live closer to the coast and can't attend the meetings. Would there be a way we could open up a Coastal chapter of Upstate Cruisers to meet and discuss the things you all talk about in your meetings? Every so often (once or twice a year) the 2 groups could meet somewhere central (like Columbia) for a large meeting.

Just wondering about peoples' thoughts on teh matter.

Greg down here in Florida, we have one club, FLCA, pretty much for the whole state. Great distances separate many of us, too. We have many members down south where I am from, many in the Orlando area, same with Tampa, ST. Augustine, Panhandle, etc. Although we are a network of good friends and fellow FLCA members, we frequently organize meetings, tech sessions, dinner outings, etc. on a local basis. Many times, out of town members will come in. It is also a great way that we get new members.

We also have some large scale events where members from all over the state attend. We have a rather large contingency from our Florida Chapter (20+) who attend GSMTR every year for the past 8 years or so.

I say, rustle up the tropops along the coast and start some local meetings. You can still do it without the need for a sub-chapter.

I am also a member of UC, and have been since day one. There are numerous other Florida members down here, too. Look forward to meeting you one day.

Good idea. So we could just post on here when we would like to get together for a little meeting?

Maybe when someone from the "Upstate" comes this way (Myrtle Beach, Charleston) they could post and we can all meet somewhere.

That's what we've been doing for years on the FLCA.org board. Other non-cruiser clubs have even posted events on our board. As I stated above, regional events are always posted.

Try posting for your locals to get together for some:beer:   and burgers at a local joint. Friendships will grow, parts will be traded, and you'll have a small caravan to come out to the upstate.

Greg I'm coming to Litchfield the week of Thanksgiving. Why don't you get something up. There are a lot of members of Mud that are in the Charleston Myrtle beach area. Maybe find something inbetween to meet. Georgetown or something. Or I'll meet you out for a beer one night that weekend. Won't have one of the Cruisers with me but we can still talk cruisers.

Murrell's Inlet Marsh Walk is nice that time of year. Oysters and beer anyone?

The only night I would be able to do it is Sunday. That is prolly bad for everyone. I work the night shift in Charleston, and my days off are Sunday and Monday. Those are the only days I am home.

Once I am deactivated in January, I will help plan something.

Hey Greg and Marshall. I am up for a meeting in Murrells Inlet to discuss a local cruiser club in Myrtle Beach/Charleston area. Let me know if this ever works out.

crab cakes

Yo Marshall. We just got back from Litchfield.
We stocked up on those great crab cakes I told you about last year.
It's no longer in Murrel's Inlet. Too good and she outgrew the location.
It's now on highway #17 about a mile from the fork to Murrel's Inlet.
It's on the left. Now called "The Crab Cake Lady". Ummmmm...good.
Her Creek Rolls (egg roll) are great as well. All fresh local stuff. Trust me....they'll
be a favorite if you try them.

I wouldnt mind meeting fellow cruiserheads. Im down in Charleston. Maybe we can arrange a local meeting. PM me and Ill give you my number. I know there are a few more members in the area.

I'm also in Charleston and would enjoy meeting with other cruiser owners in the coastal Carolina area. Hmm...Coastal Carolina Cruisers - a nice bit of alliteration there.

Is there anywhere good to meet in Georgetown? There are obviously good places further north (Murrell's Inlet) and I know of a nice place in Awendaw, but the only reason I've stopped in Georgetown is for a traffic light.

If Cruisers from Charleston want to meet locally, I'd recommend Andolini's in Mt Pleasant or W. Ashley as a good spot. Lots of parking, good pizza,, and they don't mind folks just sitting around and BSing. Maybe do this on a Sunday afternoon so Greg can join us?

MTPCRUISER nice 40, I havent seen it driving around.
Im over on Sullivans. Lovetractor is right up the street in Mt. P. I know there are a good number more too. I keep having to pass by that FJ40 on Coleman across from the Piggly Wiggly every day and its killing me since its so nice but just out of my budget right now.

I ran into Lovetractor on Saturday looking at the Red FJ40 for sale on Coleman. I stopped by to take a look and he pulled up a minute later. I picked up my FJ40 about two weeks ago in Savannah, GA. Let me know if you'd like to get together for a .

Thanks, but actually I am in Myrtle Beach on Sundays with my family. Let's get together foe a lunch-type-thing on a Saturday sometime? I can hit it before I have to go to work.

Let's make a plan to meet soon on a Saturday at Noon at Andolini's. Which Saturday works for everyone? Maybe once we decide, we can post a new thread?
