Last item keeps coming up like a dog with a rotten old bone. Hopefully, this will see the end of it one way or another.

This is a pretty important issue and I doubt that we will see the end of it at this meeting.
I've asked Phil to set up a Poll to get all CC member's views.

We don't need a poll, just a vote. I thought we talked about having a BBQ, seems we have good member turnout, we can then take a vote. I really thought we put this to bed last meeting :hhmm:

I thought we did. It is a Toyota (Landcruiser) club, where we are allowed to have a percentage of other brands. As long as that is kept in check, whats the big f'n deal?

The real issue that should be dealt with is breaking legs and arms getting people to pay their TLCA dues............................................

Dually noted, poll is up! I thought a vote was taken at the last meeting. I didn't hear a lot of nays, of course, sometimes it's hard to hear what's going on. Decorum gentleman (and women).

Thank you Phil.

Now, its up to ALL OF YOU to participate in this poll and make your opinions known now.

WOW, you guys still have not sorted this out.
This is the reason why I was hesitant to join a group - POLITICS and BULL s*** (which are kind of the same thing).

If anyone actually cares, after the Chilko run, which is already planned, I am getting out of this and either finding a place that is focused on OFF-ROADING not bickering, or starting my own club:
rules:
have fun, work together to enjoy wheeling expeditions, be good to the environment and HAVE FUN! drive whatever the hell you like - just bring spare parts. The end!
Wish you all the best of luck.

QUOTE]

You know, Mat, politics is bull s*** alright, but its impossible to avoid it because politics is just another name for human relations. I hear people say, "Oh, I don't do politics" or "I avoid politics" but the fact is, politics is all around us. There is family politics and Politics, there is office politics, school politics, relationship politics, and any number of other politics and always will be, because people live and relate through politics. In relationships, often one party will try to dominate another party, or somehow try to take control. Governments are just one group of people trying to control another group of people. Politics goes completely through human relationships from top to bottom, birth to death. After you die, there are still politics from relatives fighting over your estate, on to governments also taking a piece of it. Get used to it, politics is life. I don't like it either.
If you do quit the club, I will be sorry to see you go.

I hate to say this, but Bill is right, if there are no rules, there is no Coastal Cruisers, cause Matt, you just discribed every other 4X4 club out there. A Cruiser Club is special in that although we may not have the wheeling thing in common, the Cruiser connection is a very strong tie no mater what you use the Cruiser for. While I agree with Bill, I do also beileve there are acceptions to the rule, and I suggest when you make this new rule that you alow others to join, which have hung out with the club for a certain amount of time. As we all know there are members that have been around from the begining of time, and have put up with all our Landcruiser crap for a long time and still hang out with CC.
My 2 cents, and take them as you will, because I am no longer a member of CC and am an outsider looking in, I just don't want to see the CC watered down to start allowing every jo blow with a lada into the club;).
Cheers,
Deny

Well, what a piss-off this is!

I read the 1991 newsletter again after last meeting. In that newsletter, the original club had 13 members and 2 honourary members. They consisted of 11 cruisers, 1 mini truck and 1 Mitsubishi. 2 honourary members were a unimog and a Bronco.

So, any talk of the club being exclusive to Landcruisers is wrong, it never was.

Also, every member present at the meetings has a VOTE on members wanting to join, regardless of what they drive. If the majority of the club is against non cruisers, fine, vote that way. If the vote doesn't go your way, don't piss and moan about it for years after the fact.

John was voted in and everyone was aware that he didn't own a cruiser.

I'm starting to feel the same way.

Kinda feeling guilty for picking this out of the agenda line-up when there are so many more great things on the club's agenda. So, let's get back on track. I am looking forward to hearing about the Victoria Day Long Weekend run, planning Cruiser Days, 4WDABC CC activities, and some summer wheeling - and of course beer and pub grub. BTW, I have now won the 649 two weeks in a row. So, I am getting closer to buying a Cruiser. Just that with wins of $10 and $1 it might take a bit longer than planned. :D

I won't make the meeting.

On the topic of 4wdabc, if we have formally taken on Kenyon Lake, we need to get a maintenance run on the calendar. I know Drew was at the site two weeks ago because I ran into him at Chehalis River. Didn't sound like much was needed yet but that doesn't really matter, we should still do a club run there. So, June 27 or 28 works best for me, anyone else?

And Canucksafari, there is a 55 body that looks pretty decent on craigslist for $350, almost fits your 649 budget :hhmm:.

Is there any snow still up Kenyon way? I'd love to on a trip there, tried a few years ago and got lost, but found Twin Lakes instead, and Cypress Point.

I have a 55 frame and running gear with lots of body parts to fit that body :)
