It's time to sell my 2000 Landcruiser. I've maintained it thinking I'd have it forever but I've been enjoying driving the wife's car so much that we've compromised a trade. We buy a 100 series she "doesn't have to jump into" and I can use her car as my daily driver and we still have a 'cruiser for camping and mountain expeditions. So, here it goes with much sadness:
2000 Landcruiser
181,xxx miles
Timing belt/water pump done at ~120k when I bought it. (Plan to change at 200k)
ARB front/rear lockers, installed by Slee Offroad. Oversized compressor for airing tires, tubes, etc.
OME lift, OME torsion bars, 866 springs.
Almost new BFG KO2 285/75/16 tires.
Slee step sliders.
Slee rear bumper and tire swingout.
Bump it Offroad front bumper (I asked Mike to add vents in lower portion, makes it look really nice, IMO).
PIAA offroad flood lights.
JVC Bluetooth stereo with music streaming (controls my android music with the buttons, pretty handy)
Upgraded speakers in all doors. (Polk I think? Been too long)
Steering rack replaced with new OEM by Slee Offroad in last 5,000 miles.
Power Stop drilled/slotted rotors and brake pads changed in last 10,000 miles (all four).
Master cylinder rebuilt.
Sway bar bushings replaced.
Lower ball joints replaced.
Extra output John Deere headlight bulbs. (I miss these compared to our LX470 projectors)
Yakima tire mount two bike rack.
All synthetic fluids, all the time. (Baselined all fluids in the truck at 125k when purchased.)
I did the 4x 4 quart transmission flush at 125k miles when I bought it with M1 synthetic. Have done it with oil changes a handful of times since. (shifts really nice)
I'm sure I'm missing a lot of things. I have a pile of receipts that show all the work done since I've had it. I've been working on cars my whole life and make sure things are working as they should. When something is out of my comfort zone/desire to get dirty, it goes to Slee Offroad. That said, it hasn't needed much in the six years I've had it. The steering rack is the biggest maintenance need it's had. Everything works as it should and this baby is solid. There are a couple of small bumps and scrapes, but it still looks great. The truck is clean with no corrosion. All three rows of seats are there and look good with no rips or tears.
If anyone has questions or would like to see specific photos, let me know.
