I can't believe this.... I won't be able to make Moab afterall. My mother-in-law took my daughter to the zoo this morning... stepped down off one of the viewing platforms.... misjudged the step and broke her leg. She has a compound tib/fib fracture and will probably have to have surgery later this afternoon. Needless to say, my wife will be staying here to take care of her mom... and I know better than to go on vacation without her.
Anyone wanna take my spot at Moab? The spot is paid for and you can have it as long as you bring me my tshirt.
Unreal... this is probably about all I have talked about for the last couple of weeks... now I will have to wait another year to experience all that is Moab. I expect lots of pics when you get back.

That is terrible news; both about your mother-in-law and having to miss Moab.
I had to cancel the year before last and Rising Sun refunded my money. I was able to notify them several weeks before the event so you might not be as lucky.
Let me know if you want me to pick up your packet and the T-Shirt. Call or text me on my cell around 5PM Wednesday afternoon in case someone picks up your spot.

I'm not going to try to get my money back. Since its a sold out event, I just figured someone else in the club might want to jump on it if they missed out on the registration. I appreciate your offer Mike... I may take you up on it if no one wants the spot.

I'll take a look at your runs and see if I should try to poach your Thursday or Friday instead of what I was given. I've never been to Moab so I'm happy jsut to go and check the place out on whatever run.
The truck is loaded. I had to replace my locking lugs today after my key broke at Discount during the rotation, then just as I was finished I forgot that the antenna was on as I pulled into the garage. New radio shack antenna, check. At least it saved me from driving in with the high-lift on!
I need to get on the road bad.

edit: I just looked up Mike's trails (Elephant hill, poison spider). Should I look to trade for my Porcupine Rim and Wipe-out hill?

I belive David is going up on Tuesday with George from Santa Fe. So it will be just me at the cross roads ~9:00am.

E-hill is beautiful, poison spider is fun. I've never done Porcupine or Wipe-out, so I can't compare, but Elephant hill is very worthwhile, for the scenery more than the wheeling. There are even two short hikes on that one.

After a busted Yakima ski rack and seeing the tears after a friend smashed his road bike into his garage, I decided that "hiding" the garage remote would help. Basically, I remove it from the sun visor and put it into the center console any time there is anything up top that must be removed before entry.
