I have an 87 FJ60 with an H55 5 speed that was installed in the 2002-2003 time frame at unknown mileage by a PO. The car currently has 165k miles. The throw out bearing or clutch fork appears to be shot. So the trans/transfer will be coming down and that will be getting replaced.
My question is, are folks just doing the entire clutch kit, rear main seal, etc. when you do this? Or if (big if) all that was done when the transmission was installed, do you just repair what needs to be repaired?
What is the common wisdom here?
