I have a late 85 60 and a month ago my master went out, it got real hard to shift leaked around the pedal so I went ahead and changed both the master and the slave. Its alot better but it still is hard to get into gear coming from a stop. Reverse is the worst but all the forward gears are a little tricky to sometimes.

Is there some way to adjust the slave?

The clutch itself isn't that old. I bled quite a few times to make sure the air is out.

All I can think is that maybe the soft line is bad or there is an adjustmant I don't know about any help is appreciated.?

Here's the procedure from the FSM. On the '85, the push rod at the slave is fixed length, so the only adjustment is at the pedal. check the soft line to see if it's cracked or swelling.
clutch adjustment.webp

thanks I adjusted it and it did the trick that diagram helped a ton. It shifts better now than the day I bought the thing. the only thing left to fix now is an oil leak i'm just hoping its not the rear main seal and just the pan gasket.

Yea thats what I would have thought to but the owner I bought it from told me that he just had the clutch replaced and I probably haven't put more than 5k miles on it since I bought it a year and a half ago but it leaks pretty good. Hopefully its just the oil pan gasket i'm going to try that one when I change the oil next time.

You never know when a shop does the work and the previous owner just had it for his kids to drive and just took it to a shop when something went.

OK! I see how it is :meh:

I have read on this board that you can tell if the rear main is leaking by looking for oil on the front side of the flywheel. It is accessible by removing the inspection cover. Any truth to this??
